FAQ
How do I know my site has been hacked?
Typical signs: strange pages appear under your domain in Google, visitors get redirected to other sites, the browser shows a warning, your host suspends the account for spam, unknown users show up in the admin panel, or the site suddenly slows down for no reason.
What exactly do you do?
We take a copy, compare every file against the original versions and find what was modified. We clean the files and database of injections, redirects and backdoors. We find how they got in and close that entry point. We rotate every password and key, update the components, clear the search engine blacklists and hand over a report.
How long does it take?
The base timeline is 4 days, or 2 with priority. If the site is down or the infection is widespread, we start by getting a working version back online and finish the deep cleanup after that.
Will the site stay up during the cleanup?
Yes. Most of the work happens on a copy, so the site stays available. Applying the changes may need a short maintenance window of a few minutes — we warn you in advance and do it at a convenient time.
How do sites usually get hacked?
Most often through an outdated plugin or theme with a known vulnerability. After that: a weak or reused admin password, leaked FTP credentials, an infected computer on someone team, or a vulnerable neighbouring site on the same hosting account.
Can you guarantee it will not happen again?
We guarantee that the specific hole they came through is closed, every credential is rotated and the components are updated. Nobody can guarantee absolute protection from new attacks: security rests on regular updates, strong passwords and traffic filtering in front of the site. What to add in your case goes into the report.
I have a backup — is rolling back simpler?
Sometimes yes, and we will say so honestly. But a rollback only helps when the backup is provably clean and recent. Infections usually live on a site for weeks, so they are in the backup too, and a rollback also loses new orders and content. So we look first and choose the path after.
Google flagged my site as dangerous — will that clear?
Yes. After the cleanup we submit a review request in Search Console and the reputation services. Removing the flag usually takes from a few hours to a few days — those timelines sit with Google and are outside our control.
Could customer data have been stolen?
We review access logs and traces in the database to understand what was reached. But the honest answer is that proving nothing was taken is technically impossible. If personal data was on the site, the report states what was at risk so you can decide about notifying your users.
What do you need from me to start?
Access to hosting and files, access to the database, access to the site admin and to Google Search Console if you have it. Plus a short note: when you noticed the problem and what exactly you are seeing. We will find the rest ourselves.
