FAQ
Will the site be unavailable during the move?
No. We bring the copy up on the new server in advance and test it through a technical address while the domain still points to the old hosting. The DNS switch happens onto a ready site, so visitors land either on the old server or the new one — they never see a placeholder.
How long does the migration take?
3 days. Day one is the copy and deployment on the new server, day two is testing and the domain switch, day three is monitoring and the report. DNS records themselves take up to 24 hours to update worldwide, and during that time the site serves from both servers at once.
Will my search rankings drop?
No, as long as page addresses stay the same. The domain and structure remain unchanged, so from the search engine’s point of view nothing happened. If the new hosting is faster, that is if anything a plus.
What should I do with the old hosting?
Do not switch it off right away. We keep it running for at least a day after the switch, and it is best to delete the site and close the account a week later, once it is clear everything is stable. That is your insurance.
Can you help me choose a hosting?
Yes, it is a small separate service: we look at the site size, load and visitor geography and suggest a few options for your budget. You buy the plan yourself in your own name so the account stays yours.
Will email on my domain keep working?
Yes. When changing DNS we keep all mail records, and if the mailboxes live on the old hosting together with the site, we move them along with it. After the switch we check sending and receiving.
What if the site runs worse on the new hosting?
Before switching we test the copy on the new server and compare response times. If it is slower, we tell you before the move, not after. As long as the old hosting is alive, you can roll back at any moment.
What access do you need?
The old hosting panel or FTP plus database access, the new hosting panel, and access to domain management wherever it is registered. Site admin access is welcome for the final check. Everything is agreed upfront.
Can you move a site from a website builder to regular hosting?
Not this way: Wix, Tilda and similar platforms do not hand over the site as files, so it would be a rebuild with the texts and images carried over rather than a migration. Send us the address and we will tell you which service you actually need.
Will the site get faster after the move?
The move itself speeds things up only if the old hosting was the bottleneck. We show the server response time before and after, which is usually enough to see the difference. If the site itself is slow, that needs a separate speed optimisation service.
