FAQ
I already have a certificate but the browser says “not secure”. Why?
Most often the certificate is installed, but the site still loads images, fonts or scripts from old http addresses. That is mixed content — the browser treats the page as insecure. The second typical cause is a missing redirect, so some visitors still arrive over http.
How long does the work take?
2 days. The installation and setup itself takes a few hours, but domain validation on the hosting side and DNS updates sometimes take up to a day. If you need it today, we take your project as priority and do it in one day.
Is a free Let's Encrypt certificate fine for a business?
Yes. Technically the encryption is the same as with paid certificates, and Google treats them the same way. A paid certificate is only needed when you require organisation validation for banking or corporate requirements.
Will search rankings drop after moving to HTTPS?
No, as long as the move is done properly: 301 redirects from old addresses, an updated address in Search Console, no http and https duplicates. Google has recommended HTTPS for years and counts it as a positive signal.
Do I need to renew the certificate manually?
No. Let’s Encrypt is valid for 90 days, and we set up automatic renewal on the hosting. Paid certificates are valid for a year and are renewed through the provider — we note that in the report.
What is mixed content?
It is when the page itself opens over https, but some of its files — images, styles, video — still load over http. The browser shows a warning or blocks those files entirely. We find those addresses in the database and the theme and replace them.
My hosting does not offer a free SSL — what then?
Such hosts still exist. Options: install the certificate manually if the host allows it, or connect Cloudflare, which provides HTTPS at its own level. We look at your hosting and tell you which approach will work.
Will it affect site speed?
No, more often the opposite. Modern servers with HTTPS automatically enable HTTP/2, and pages with many files load faster than over http.
Do I need HTTPS if my site has no forms or payments?
Yes. Browsers mark any http site as “not secure”, and some visitors close it right away. Google also counts HTTPS in ranking regardless of whether the site has forms.
What access do you need?
Hosting panel and site admin panel with administrator rights. If the domain is managed elsewhere, access to DNS management. Everything is agreed upfront.
